Spider's web

Last night while locking the car, I was wrapped by silky sticky threads all over my face and head. I had encountered this experience earlier too, but this one was with a thought. Just next our outer gate we have tilted pine tree and on earlier occasions I have noticed in the evening spider weaving it’s web. I was amazed when one day I noticed complete shining web of almost four feet dia. n the middle of was gliding creature who knitted it all. Being architect by profession i admired the skills of its builder who single handed created it as well produced the material. But perhaps need was of not shelter but food. How much these things are in our life too. All the time food, shelter and possessions keeps us occupied, to the extent that we forget our purpose which also remains a mystery quite often.
Coming back to spider story I have seen web never being shared by second spider. Are there life partner in their life? Are spiders loners? What do they do when they are not spinning? When they swing how do they know threads will find the other corner? What are their safe guards against the harm to their webs by stronger forces? Some of these questions may provide solutions to man’s problems.
Certainly one thing still remains after getting the feel of silky threads on my face have I wasted all the efforts, skill and energy of spider? though I am careful of spotting and avoiding web’ ways yet remain puzzled by world wide web of life
